PF below the JD for the role of Firmware Engineer.
Applicants must have a degree in Electronics or a strongly related discipline.
Experience Required: 2-4 years in Embedded Systems and Firmware Design Architecture
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop embedded firmware using C language for 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUs).
Work independently on firmware projects and take ownership of the complete development lifecycle.
Develop and maintain firmware for new products while also supporting and enhancing existing codebases.
Interface with microcontrollers (e.g., 8051, ARM, NXP, Renesas, STM, Atmel, Microchip) and various communication protocols.
Understand and work with communication protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, Modbus and RS-485.
Read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and other technical documents for hardware-software integration.
Debug and test firmware using tools such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
Apply strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring the firmware integrates seamlessly with hardware and other system components.
Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for electronics and embedded systems development.
Required Skills:
Expertise in embedded firmware development using C programming for various microcontroller architectures.
Proficiency with Embedded Linux development, including device drivers, kernel interactions, and system-level programming.
Strong understanding of electronics and embedded system design.
Proficient in debugging and testing tools (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes).
Solid understanding and experience with communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, Modbus, RS-485) and wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE).
Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics and datasheets.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
Good to Have:
Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), such as FreeRTOS.
Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone for embedded Linux projects.
Knowledge of Ethernet and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
